Meet our Founder
Flourishing Hearts Academy was founded by Rachel Serantes Zayas, M.A., BCBA, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a master’s degree in Special Education and extensive experience supporting children and families through individualized ABA services. Since 2021, Rachel has worked in the field across a variety of settings, developing a strong foundation in early intervention and school readiness, particularly through ABA therapy for children.
Through her clinical work, Rachel developed the belief that meaningful outcomes for clients are a direct reflection of a clinician’s preparation and support. This philosophy guides her commitment to investing in ongoing professional development, collaboration, and high standards of practice for the team at Flourishing Hearts Academy.
Rachel is also deeply committed to promoting independence and long-term success for the individuals served. She believes in 'working herself out of a job' by equipping children and families with the skills needed to function successfully within their environments without reliance on full-time support.
As a Spanish-speaking clinician, Rachel understands the cultural values, backgrounds, and customs of Hispanic families and is passionate about providing services that are respectful, inclusive, and culturally responsive. Through her leadership, Flourishing Hearts Academy reflects a balance of compassion, competence, and dedication to lasting impact.
